Gene Elders has played fiddle and mandolin in George Strait’s Ace In The Hole Band since 1984, while also playing fiddle in Lyle Lovett’s Large Band for 11 years. Joan Baez recorded songs of Gene’s wife, Betty, after which they both joined the Baez band on tour in Europe and the US.
Gene has also played on recordings by George Strait, Lyle Lovett, Joan Baez, Lucinda Williams and Dan Fogelberg, to name but a few. When he’s not on the road with the Ace In The Hole Band, Gene is working in his studio, composing for film and recording violin, mandolin, concertina, octave viola, octave mandolin, and full string sections for artists across the country and across the oceans.
